Position: Medical Technologist Generalist & Lead Blood Bank Technologist. Basically you will be the lead/coordinator for Transfusion Services however, you will still work in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology and microbiology.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full Time, 1st Shift
Location: Just East of Burlington, WA on Fidalgo Island

Principle
Responsibilities:
Lead Medical Technologist Department. Assures the clinical laboratory technical service is capable of meeting client, regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements. Participates in the development and planning of projects, coordinates the day to day function of the technical section with other team members. Performs generalist duties in all departments Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Serology, and Micrbiology.
Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Medical Technologist successful completion of a 4-year baccalaureate program leading to a bachelors degree in life science field preferred.
Meets federal guidelines (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments/CLIA) for performing high complexity testing.
Knowledge and experience working with Laboratory Information systems preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations as it applies to the clinical laboratory.
Knowledgeable of patient age specific criteria for laboratory testing.
Preferred:
Skills include previous technical or shift coordinator experience in Laboratory as complex as this this facility with Transfusion Services focus.
Experience working with automated/semi-automated instrumentation and manual procedures.
3 years experience in clinical Laboratory as a Medical Technologist.
1 year of lead, coordinator, supervisor, or management experience in clinical Laboratory as a Medical Technologist.
Required:
MT(ASCP) preferred, other certification or registries considered on basis of equivalency as reviewed by Laboratory Director.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
